DEVELOPING A TOURISM OBJECT “KAMPUNG COKELAT”: ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT- BASED MODELS

Abstract

The concept of Educational Tourism object which is offered to either  local and forign tourists  “Kampung Cokelat" has been built for some years in the area of Plosorejo Kademangan, East Java, Indonesia. This tourism site has inspired the other places of Indonesia.It is not only the first and new run but also a good in the local community empowerment. The study starts with the comparative studies or preliminary observations to analyze the existing deficiencies in problem solving. There are several factors that become an obstacle in the development of tourism potential such as the ignorance of the public about the plant Chocolate, lack of land and human resources (farmers and workers, instructors), lack of innovation, especially in terms of marketing and the limited number of production.
