BLOCKCHAIN IN THE EDUCATION MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (SIMDIK): A SECURE AND SUSTAINABLE DIGITAL GOVERNANCE TRANSFORMATION

This study aims to explore the perceptions and opinions of academic subjects regarding the integration of Blockchain technology in the Education Management Information System (SIMDIK). The main focus of this study is to understand how stakeholders view Blockchain's potential as a solution to the phenomena of data integrity vulnerabilities and document verification bureaucracy in higher education. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type, this study explores the essence of the subjects' experiences and critical views on digital data security. Data were collected through an open-ended questionnaire instrument distributed to students at Ahmad Dahlan Islamic University. The results of the study provide an in-depth overview of user expectations regarding data transparency and decentralization, as well as obstacles that may arise in the adoption of this technology. This research contributes to the development of the concept of accountable digital governance to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 related to education quality.
