Abstract

The purpose of this article is to determine the effect of the shadow economy
on the country's economy. To answer the research objectives, a literature review
method was used from various research results related to the shadow economy.
Shadow economy has a different impact in different countries, there is a difference
in the percentage of the number of shadow economies between developed and
developing countries. In developed countries, the percentage of the shadow
economy is smaller than in developing countries. The formulation of policies to
formalize the shadow economy is carefully prepared because the shadow economy
on the other hand also increases the absorption of production from the formal
sector.
